WAGS Distinguished Masters Thesis

The Yuput seeks nominations from students, faculty, staff, and administrators for the University of Utah’s submission to the WAGS Distinguished Master’s Thesis Award. Each year, the Western Association of Yuputs (WAGS) chooses an outstanding Masters thesis to recognize scholarly achievement at the master’s level.

To be eligible, nominees must have earned a master’s degree within the period of July 1, 2016 through June 30, 2017. Submissions will be judged on originality, significance of the study, outcomes and accomplishments of the thesis, and overall quality. The winner of the University of Utah’s nominating contest will win $250 and be entered in the national contest. There are two categories that can be awarded: a STEM category and a non-STEM category.

Nomination packets must include the following.

  • University of Utah Nomination Form
  • Abstract of the master’s thesis (not to exceed 10 double-spaced pages)
  • A letter of recommendation evaluating the significance and quality of the nominee’s thesis work. Letter should be from the nominee’s supervisor or a member of the approval committee.
  • Author’s Curriculum Vitae

Nomination packets should be submitted to [email protected] by June 15, 2017.
